Deep Rest Friday is a monthly two-hour workshop designed as a soft pause at the end of the week, a place to unwind your nervous system, release tension, and leave feeling restored.

As autumn and winter arrive, many of us naturally want to turn inward, to reflect, renew, and rest. This workshop honours that rhythm, offering a cosy, supported space for genuine replenishment.
Workshop Overview
Deep Rest Friday weaves together two complementary practices:
Yin Yoga: slow, floor-based shapes held with props and patience.
Yoga Nidra: a guided “yogic sleep” meditation for profound nervous-system calm.
Together, they invite your body to soften, your breath to steady, and your mind to settle.
The Magic of Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep)
Yoga Nidra leads you into conscious relaxation; you’re not asleep, but you drift from the busy beta brainwave state toward alpha and theta, the liminal place just before sleep. In this state, the body can:
release layered muscular and mental tension,
down-regulate from stress, and
access a deep, unforced sense of calm. It’s permission to rest at the deepest level, something most of us are craving.
The Magic of Yin Yoga (Fascia & Stillness)
Yin works with the body’s connective tissue (fascia), the web that supports and links everything. By holding shapes for longer, fascia has time to hydrate and release, easing stiffness while stillness becomes meditation. Benefits often include:
improved joint mobility and circulation,
quieter mind and easier breath,
a grounded, centred feeling that lingers after class.
