Accomodation

Yurt pic 2.png

The Cloud House - Yurt

One double bed. Two large futon daybeds.

Sleeps 4
Cloud-House is the original Mongolian term for yurt, although the original Mongolian yurt-dwellers would probably be utterly delighted at the canopy of rainbow colours you see as soon as you open the door.

Bright African fabrics fill the ceiling and walls, fleeces and sheepskins ensure maximum cosiness, and the wood burner and candles provide warmth and atmospheric lighting. The outside shower just a few metres away behind the yurt couldn’t be much quirkier – made up of reclaimed railway sleepers, copper and stone with wide-stretching views to the hills and the shared oak panelled long drop loo is a stone’s throw away.

The Cloud-House is set on a large wooden deck with outdoor seating space.

Kinton Farm House

There has been a farm here for hundreds of years and the house itself dates back to the late 15th Century and has many of the associated features and that you would expect in a building of such an age.

Occupying a position overlooking a secluded valley with far reaching views there is almost no light pollution and on clear nights the stars are amazing.

There are 2 spacious rooms double and single, and one double in the 2nd room

Please be aware that due to the age of the building those with limited mobility would find the stairs too steep.

There are 2 bedroom

Bedroom 1 - 1 double bed and 1 single bed

Bedroom 2 - 1 double bed

Shared Bathroom

The Duck Hut

The Duck Hut is set in a small copse of trees in this quiet secluded corner of Kinton and looks out over open countryside with unspoilt views across the meadows and wandering sheep leading up to the top of Corndon Hill. Just up the hill is the shower shack, where you can still enjoy the scenery from the modern bathroom. Owner Frankie’s house is just visible over the rise, but doesn’t impose on the solitude at all.

The Duck Hut began life as fishing and shooting hut in the 1940s, built by aircraft manufacturers Boulton and Paul as they diversified between the wars. When Frankie found it, it had seen decades of neglect, but had enough stiff structural lip to be dismantled, relocated and carefully restored with many of its original features preserved. The broad deck and veranda have been made with creativity and flair and are perfect for comfortable star glazing.
